About the Backpack:

This resource was designed to provide educators with the materials needed to give an overview about climate change science and its implications for natural and human communities and ecosystems. It uses science, art, and storytelling to help students engage with climate change hands-on.

  • Learn about the carbon cycle, greenhouse effect, ocean acidification, and fossil fuels

  • Think about the effects of climate change on their community

  • Build vocabulary to talk about geological processes 

  • Engage with actions they can take to mitigate climate change
