Climate Kids Ambassadors Present Research at Ocean Sciences Meeting 2020

Congratulations to the Mission Bay High School Climate Kids Ambassadors for presenting their research at the 2020 Ocean Sciences Meeting!

Congratulations to the Mission Bay High School Climate Kids Ambassadors for presenting their research at last month's 2020 Ocean Sciences Meeting! The Ocean Sciences Meeting (OSM) is the flagship conference for the ocean sciences and the larger ocean-connected community - one of the largest gatherings of ocean scientists in the world!

Climate Kids Ambassadors presented a poster on their research looking at the potential impact of air quality on water quality in Mission Bay. This work plays into their larger concern in protecting the seahorse population that calls Mission Bay home.

Currently, these students are participating in the ClearCAICE program, an educational initiative of our partners at the NSF Center for Aerosol Impacts on Chemistry of the Environment (CAICE). This program guides students through the scientific process and has them collect real air quality data to help provide evidence to support their claims. We are excited to be working with the CAICE team on this initiative with our newest educational resources, the Climate Science and Atmospheric Chemistry traveling trunk.
