Cómo gerente del proyecto de Climate Kids México participé en la jornada de trabajo de la Secretaría de Economía Desarrollo Sustentable y Turismo de Baja California en Isla de Cedros, colaborando con Cedro Nature Experiences y CEDMEX para dar continuidad a las acciones de educación ambiental realizadas por Climate Kids en septiembre del 2020 para los niños de la isla.
Las actividades realizadas fueron la limpieza de playa después de un recorrido guiado por Cedros Nature Experiences y el taller de cómo la basura plástica influye en el cambio climático y los problemas de alimentación y enredamiento de la fauna marina.
También se realizó la actividad de Bingo climático, donde los niños de Cedros pudieron aprender e identificar diferentes maneras para reducir su impacto ambiental. De esta manera se llevó a la isla el esfuerzo de la artista afiliada a la Climate Science Alliance Audrey Carver quien creó esta divertida tarjeta de bingo de Climate Kids.

As a leader of the Climate Kids México project, I participated in the Secretaría de Economía Desarrollo Sustentable and Turismo de Baja California workshop in Cedros Island, in collaboration with Cedro Nature Experiences and CEDMEX to continue the environmental education outreach efforts Climate Kids began in September 2020 for the children of the island.
As part of the workshop we held a beach clean up event following a guided tour by Cedros Nature Experiences and a discussion on how plastic waste influences climate change and the problems it causes to marine life.
We also played Climate Bingo, where the children of Cedros could learn about and identify different ways to reduce their impact on the environment. This way, we were able to bring to the island the work of Climate Science Alliance affiliated artist Audrey Carver who created this fun Climate Kids bingo card.
Climate Kids is a program of the Climate Science Alliance dedicated to educating youth on climate change through science, art, and storytelling. Climate Kids programming in Mexico is a collaborative partnership focused on community-driven outreach, workshops, and environmental stewardship activities in Tijuana and Northern Baja California.
